Privacy Policy

Cubby ("Cubby", "we", "us") is a private place for families to track and remember their baby's and pregnancy journey. Privacy is the core of the product, not an afterthought. This policy explains what we collect, why, who processes it on our behalf, and the control you have. In plain terms: your data is yours, we never sell it, we run no ads, and we use no third-party advertising or analytics trackers.

Who we are

What we collect

• Account details — when you sign in with Google, Apple, or an email link, we receive your name and email address and a unique account ID.
• The information you log — what you enter about your family: your baby's name, birthday and country; feeds, sleep, nappies, pumping, growth measurements, vaccines, milestones, medicines and illnesses; and, during pregnancy, week-by-week and antenatal information and any optional health trackers you choose to use.
• Photos — images you add are stored as small thumbnails within your private family record. Photo editing happens on your device; photos are not sent to any third-party image service.
• Care circle — the people you invite (partner, grandparents, nanny, daycare) and their role, so the right people see the shared log.
• Feedback — anything you send us through the app.
• Newsletter — if you explicitly opt in, your email address and the stage you told us, to send you the guide. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• Basic technical and referral data — to run the service and understand which content brought you to Cubby, we record minimal first-party signals (e.g. the campaign or page you arrived from). We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers, cookies for tracking, or device fingerprinting.

How we use it

• To provide the service: store your log, sync it live to everyone in your care circle, show growth charts and your country's vaccine schedule, and generate keepsakes and summaries.
• To send you essential service email (e.g. your sign-in link), and — only if you opted in — the newsletter.
• To keep the service secure and working, and to improve it based on feedback.

We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not use it for third-party advertising. Ever.

Who processes data for us (sub-processors)

We use a small set of trusted infrastructure providers strictly to run Cubby. They process data on our instructions only; none are advertising or data-broker companies:

• Google Firebase — sign-in and the encrypted database that stores your family's log.
• Cloudflare — website and app hosting, edge functions, and the (separate) database that holds newsletter sign-ups.
• Resend — delivery of essential email such as sign-in links.

Your maternal/pregnancy health information that you mark private is kept private to you and is not shared with your care circle. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. These providers may process data on infrastructure located outside your country (for example in the United States or the EU).

Sharing

Your log is visible only to the people you invite into your family/care circle. We do not share your personal data with anyone else except: (a) the sub-processors above, strictly to run the service; (b) when required by law; or (c) if you ask us to. We never share it for marketing.

Children's data

Cubby is for parents and caregivers, who must be adults (18+). The information about a child is entered and controlled by the parent or guardian who owns the account, for their own family's use. We do not knowingly let children create accounts or collect data directly from children.

Your rights and controls

• Access & export — you can export your data from the app at any time.
• Delete — you can delete your data and close your account at any time; this removes your family's records from our systems.
• Withdraw consent — leave a care circle, turn off optional trackers, or unsubscribe from the newsletter whenever you like.
• Depending on where you live (e.g. the EU/UK under GDPR, or California under the CCPA), you may have additional rights to access, correct, port, or erase your data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise them.

Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account yourself, at any time, in Settings under "Your data & account". Nobody else has to agree.

When you delete your account, we delete your personal data: your profile, your private health and pregnancy records, your reminders and your login. If other people share your care circle, the log itself stays with them, because it is their family's record too. Your past entries stay signed with your bear name only, and your real name and photo are removed.

If you are the last person in a care circle, the whole circle is deleted with your account. We hold it for 30 days first, in case you change your mind, and then it is erased for good. We keep only what we must for legal or security reasons, and remove that when it is no longer needed.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update this page and the date above, and for material changes we will let you know in the app or by email.
