What is Cubby? The baby care companion built for the whole family

About Cubby · Updated June 2026 · All articles

The first weeks with a newborn are not what most people expect. You had imagined the sleeplessness, the feeds every two hours, the nappies. What catches you off guard is the fog. When you are running on broken sleep and your partner is doing the same, it becomes genuinely hard to remember basic things: when did the baby last eat? How long did that nap go? Did someone give the medicine this morning, or were you just going to? It sounds like a small thing until you are standing in the kitchen at 2am, genuinely unsure.

That coordination problem gets bigger the more people are involved in caring for your baby. A partner, a parent who helps in the day, a nanny on certain afternoons, a grandparent who takes the baby for a few hours. Each of them knows a piece of what happened. None of them knows the whole picture. And the person who usually ends up holding all that information in their head is the mother.

Cubby is built to take that weight off. It is one place where everyone who cares for your baby can log what happens, in real time, and everyone else can see it.

What you can do with Cubby

The core of Cubby is the daily log. Every feed, every nappy change, every nap, every medicine goes into the same place. A breast feed logs which side and for how long. A bottle logs the amount. A formula feed records how much was made and how much was taken. Nappy changes note whether they were wet, dirty or both. Naps track when they started, when they ended, and how long they lasted. If you need to give a painkiller or a vitamin, you can log the medicine name, the dose and the exact time so everyone knows it has been given.

Beyond the daily log, you can record your baby's weight and height over time, add milestones as they happen, and track your built-in vaccine schedule. Cubby includes the official immunisation schedules for the UAE, India, UK, US and Australia, so the dates are already in the app. You do not need to keep the clinic letter or remember when the next jab is due.

The family circle

This is the part that makes Cubby different from a notes app or a paper chart. When you set Cubby up, you invite the people who help care for your baby into what Cubby calls a family circle. A partner, a grandparent, a nanny, a helper. Each of them gets their own access to the same log. When your mother-in-law logs a feed at midday, you see it on your phone straight away, wherever you are. When your partner does the early morning shift, everything they recorded is waiting for you when you wake up.

The log is shared and live. There is no syncing delay, no "you need to update me when I get home", no piece of paper on the counter that someone forgets to read. Whoever cares for the baby next can see exactly what happened on the last shift.

Pregnancy, then baby, in the same app

Cubby covers the full journey. If you are expecting, you can use it to track your pregnancy week by week. You get updates on what is happening for you and your baby at each stage, a countdown to your due date, a place to log symptoms and scan dates, and the same family circle so your partner is included from the start.

When your baby arrives, you do not start over. The app moves with you from pregnancy to the newborn stage and beyond. Everything you have already logged stays in one place.

420+ articles on pregnancy and baby care

Alongside the tracker, Cubby includes a library of over 420 articles covering pregnancy, newborn care, feeding, sleep, common illnesses, development and more. These are written by the Cubby editorial team and draw on sources including the NHS, the CDC and country-specific health guidelines. When something comes up at 3am and you need to know whether it is normal, the articles are right there in the same app.

No ads, no tracking

Cubby does not run ads. There are no third-party analytics pixels, no data shared with advertisers, no targeted marketing based on your baby's health information. Your data is stored in Firestore and served from the same origin. The fonts are self-hosted so there is not even a font CDN call going to a third party. This is a deliberate choice: the information you log in Cubby is personal and it should stay that way.

Who uses Cubby

Cubby is used by parents in the UAE, India, the UK, Australia, the US and elsewhere. It works especially well for families where care is shared across generations or across a household, expat families where grandparents are in a different country but still want to be part of the picture, and parents using a nanny or helper who needs to be included in the care log. The built-in vaccine schedules across five countries reflect that Cubby was designed with real families in mind, not a single-country assumption.

Getting started

Cubby is a progressive web app. It works in any browser on any phone, tablet or computer. There is nothing to download from an app store. You can add it to your home screen and it behaves like a native app, but you can also just use it in a browser tab. Setting up takes under a minute: you add your baby's details (or your due date if you are expecting), and you are in. You can invite the rest of your family circle any time after that.
